Bed Shortage in the News Followup

In August 2017, I shared news of a court found the state of Maryland in contempt for the long waiting period inmates had when waiting for psychiatric treatment, you can see my original post in Bed Shortage in the News.

Maryland legislators are now working to change fix the issue by adding nearly 100 extra beds to their facilities.  You can read more about this on the Baltimore Sun’s website.

  1. I’m so glad they are working on this issue. Both times I had to take my son to the ER for mental health emergencies, we spent days waiting for a bed. That is unacceptable
