On August 15, 2017 WBALTV (a local Baltimore news outlet) reported that Judge Gale Rasin questioned the Maryland Health Secretary, Dennis Schrader, about the shortage in state psychatric beds, which, as the Judge expressed to Schrader, is resulting in court orders not being compelted and individuals who should be patients being inmates instead.
